Association between preferred chewing side and dynamic occlusal parameters

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2019
Objectives Evaluation of dynamic occlusal parameters can help dentists to understand the association of occlusion with the preferred chewing side (PCS) and enable optimal restoration of masticatory efficiency. This study evaluated the association between

Mathematical Models with Buckling and Contact Phenomena for Elastic Plates: A Review

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A review of mathematical models for elastic plates with buckling and contact phenomena is provided. The state of the art in this domain is presented. Buckling effects are discussed on an example of a system of nonlinear partial differential equations ...

Reverse dynamics analysis of contact force and muscle activities during the golf swing after total hip arthroplasty

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
There are no reports on hip kinetics including contact forces and muscle activities during the golf swing after total hip arthroplasty (THA). The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics of three-dimensional dynamics during the golf swing ...

A Magneto‐Mechanically Activated Nerve Guidance Conduit Promotes Peripheral Nerve Regeneration via TIMP1‐Mediated Membrane Tension Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a magneto‐mechanical strategy that incorporates FP@MSCs into an aligned PCL/GelMA nerve guidance conduit. Magnetic stimulation increases membrane tension in FP@MSCs, triggering cytoskeletal remodeling, Schwann cell‐like differentiation, and TIMP1 secretion. TIMP1 activates ITGB1/CD63–FAK signaling in NE‐4C cells, increasing membrane

On the frictionless unilateral contact of two viscoelastic bodies

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2003
We consider a mathematical model which describes the quasistatic contact between two deformable bodies. The bodies are assumed to have a viscoelastic behavior that we model with Kelvin-Voigt constitutive law.

A variational approach for an electro‐elastic unilateral contact problem

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2009
We consider a mechanical model which describes the frictionless unilateral contact between an electro‐elastic body and a rigid electrically non‐conductive foundation. For this model, a mixed variational formulation is provided.

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Pre‐Regenerative Endothelial Cells Empowered by Antler Blood Exosomes Orchestrate Peripheral Nerve Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The pre‐regenerative vascular niche (PVN) is essential for nerve repair, yet its endothelial blueprint remains unclear. We identified angiogenic ECs (AECs) as the dominant pre‐regenerative subset and found that antler blood–derived exosomes (AB‐EXO) promote repair via IMP3.

Remote Magnetomechanical Neuromodulation Uncovers Therapeutic Mechanisms for Alleviating Parkinsonian Symptoms in Freely Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.
