Impact of Acute Versus Chronic Unilateral Hearing Loss on Head Movement in a Novel Binaural Task
Individuals with single‐sided deafness (SSD) may develop adaptive listening strategies with head movement patterns to optimize monaural localization and speech‐in‐noise understanding. Granular understanding of adaptive behaviors may better inform rehabilitation for SSD.

Improving health-related quality of life in single-sided deafness: a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]
Unilateral severe-to-profound hearing loss, or single-sided deafness (SSD), impairs listening abilities supported by the use of two ears, including speech perception in background noise and sound localisation.

Predicting speech perception outcomes following cochlear implantation in adults with unilateral deafness or highly asymmetric hearing loss [PDF]
Unilateral deafness and highly-asymmetric hearing loss can impair listening abilities in everyday situations, create substantial audiological handicap, and reduce overall quality of life.

Characteristics of Hearing Loss in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis
Abstract Methods A systematic review of CINAHL, Cochrane Library, PubMed, and SCOPUS databases was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines to identify studies evaluating T2DM and hearing loss. Primary outcome measures included continuous measures (mean), proportions (%), proportional difference (∆), and relative risks (RR) with 95% confidence ...
