Skeletal Anomalies Associated with Unilateral Renal Agenesis

British Journal of Urology, 1987
Summary— Unilateral renal agenesis is sometimes associated with skeletal anomalies. The skeletal malformations are easily detectable and, if found, should suggest further urological investigations. The embryological aspect of the association is explored.

Tracheomalacia in a Patient with Unilateral Pulmonary and Renal Agenesis

Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2007
We report the case of an eight-month-old boy with tracheomalacia secondary to impingement by the right pulmonary artery, together with congenital agenesis of the left lung and the left kidney. Aortopexy and right pulmonary artery-pexy were successful in improving lung function by more than 100%, and the patient remained free of complications in the ...

Compensatory renal growth in human fetuses with unilateral renal agenesis

Teratology, 1991
AbstractTo determine whether compensatory growth of the kidney occurs during fetal life we studied 20 human specimens with a unilateral kidney as an isolated defect. The mean combined kidney weight to body weight ratio × 100 in controls was 0.76 ± 0.14 (SD) and in the solitary kidney cases (after doubling the kidney weight) was 1.26 ± 0.35 (SD).

UNILATERAL RENAL AGENESIS IN TWO SIBLINGS

Pediatrics, 1962
The occurrence of unilateral renal agenesis in two siblings is reported. This anomaly is often silent, and its clinical recognition most frequently results from an incidental examination during the course of an illness, as in Case 2. The importance of recognizing the presence of one kidney before operating upon it is obvious: there are records of ...

Membranous Glomerulonephritis in a Patient with Unilateral Renal Agenesis

Nephron, 2002
Secondary membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) is usually caused by drugs or systemic disorders that produce circulating immune complexes. However, some disorders that did not seem to form circulating immune complexes have been listed as underlying diseases of secondary MGN.

Vesicoureteral Junction Obstruction Associated with Unilateral Renal Agenesis

Urologia Internationalis, 2003
A 7-month-old boy with a solitary kidney showed recurrent urinary tract infection. Magnetic resonance urography helps in the identification of vesicoureteral junction obstruction associated with unilateral renal agenesis.

ASSOCIATED UROLOGICAL ANOMALIES IN CHILDREN WITH UNILATERAL RENAL AGENESIS

The Journal of Urology, 1999
Unilateral renal agenesis has been noted in 1:1,000 autopsies. Recently an increased incidence of vesicoureteral reflux was reported in patients with a solitary kidney. We determined the incidence of associated renal abnormalities in children with unilateral renal agenesis. We retrospectively reviewed 46 consecutive cases of unilateral renal agenesis ...
