Further Uniqueness Theorems

1989
In a similar way as done in section 7.3. for the case of the plane, also in higher dimensions uniqueness theorems can be immediately deduced from the Holmgren theorem and its generalization. Regard, for instance, two solutions u, ũ to the initial value problem (9.12).

Holmgren’s Uniqueness Theorem

1983
There is a well-known theorem, called the Cauchy-Kowaleski theorem, which asserts that there exists a unique analytic solution of an analytic initial-value problem. Here, by an analytic initial-value problem, we mean a problem in which everything (the terms in the equation, the initial data, and the initial hypersurface), is analytic in a neighbourhood

A UNIQUENESS THEOREM IN ELASTODYNAMICS

The Quarterly Journal of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, 1984
The present paper is concerned with the uniqueness theorems for harmonic elastic waves in isotropic, but inhomogeneous, bodies. The proof methods are based on the use of some integral inequalities and on some regularity conditions imposed to the material constants.

Elimination Theorems of Uniqueness Conditions

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 1982
The author considers first order classical logic and adds to the well-known equivalence of Skolem's theorem, eliminating Skolem functors, and Hilbert Bernays' second E theorem a further equivalent, called ``elimination theorem of uniqueness condition'', by formalizing the graph of the Skolem functor and afterwards deleting the uniqueness condition Un R

UNIQUENESS THEOREMS FOR HARMONIC FUNCTIONS

Analysis, 1988
In a previous paper [Mitt. Math. Semin. Giessen 168, 57 S. (1984; Zbl 0552.30020)] we proved some uniqueness theorems for entire analytic functions f of exponential type which state that f must vanish identically or be a certain special function if f and certain derivatives of f vanish at the integers and the type of f is not too big.
