Robust Algorithms for Finding Triangles and Computing the Girth in Unit Disk and Transmission Graphs
We describe optimal robust algorithms for finding a triangle and the unweighted girth in a unit disk graph, as well as finding a triangle in a transmission graph. In the robust setting, the input is not given as a set of sites in the plane, but rather as ...

In this review, the latest research progress in surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is discussed comprehensively. It covers four main aspects of SERS technology: materials utilized, various types of SERS substrates, methods employed for their preparation, and recent applications explored in the field over the past few years.

The chemical composition and the in vitro synergistic antimicrobial effects of four Satureja essential oils were investigated. Essential oils from Satureja montana and S. hortensis displayed strong antimicrobial effects, whereas S. calamintha and S. alpina exhibited relatively weaker antimicrobial activity.

ABSTRACT The subfamily Gomphrenoideae is composed of about 480 accepted species, many of which have been historically used as medicinal plants, reason why they have been studied in terms of chemical profile, biological activity, and safety. This review consolidates the advances in research on this subfamily over the past 47 years, emphasizing its ...

Computing Diameter+2 in Truly Subquadratic Time for Unit-Disk Graphs
Finding the diameter of a graph in general cannot be done in truly subquadratic assuming the Strong Exponential Time Hypothesis (SETH), even when the underlying graph is unweighted and sparse.

SAAP‐148 Oligomerizes into a Hexamer Forming a Hydrophobic Inner Core
The highly cationic and hydrophobic antimicrobial peptide SAP‐148 effectively eradicates multidrug‐resistant bacteria, persistent cells, and biofilms without inducing resistance. Its efficiency is likely due to its ability to disrupt bacterial membranes as an oligomer, forming a stable alpha‐helical hexameric bundle with three parallel dimers that ...

ABSTRACT Actin filaments are dynamic polymers whose length depends on regulated monomer association and dissociation at their ends. Actin barbed‐end dynamics are relatively better understood, primarily due to the approximately tenfold faster subunit on/off rates at barbed versus pointed ends.
