Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Weighted Approximation for Jackson-Matsuoka Polynomials on the Sphere

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We consider the best approximation by Jackson-Matsuoka polynomials in the weighted Lp space on the unit sphere of Rd. Using the relation between K-functionals and modulus of smoothness on the sphere, we obtain the direct and inverse estimate of ...

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

A real formula for transition probabilities

open access: yesStatistica, 2007
Transition probabilities between states in two dimensional quantum systems are derived as functions of unit vectors in R3 instead of state vectors in C2.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

On the developable ruled surfaces Kinematically generated in Minkowski 3-Space

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2014
In this paper, we present a method to be developable of a ruled surface, generated in Minkowski 3-space R corresponding to the dual Lorentzian curves according to E. Study's transference principle and some theorems and examples.

A New Family of Buckled Rings on the Unit Sphere

open access: yesMathematics
Buckled rings, also known as pressurized elastic circles, can be described as critical points for a variational problem, namely the integral of a quadratic polynomial in the geodesic curvature of a curve. Thus, they are a generalization of elastic curves,

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
