Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.

1-Hydroxy-3,4-dimethoxy-10-methylacridin-9-one
There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C16H15NO4, which was isolated from fruits of Zanthoxylum leprieurii. The atoms of the three rings of each molecule are close to coplanar with the largest deviations from ...

Tiling a unit square with 8 squares
Put n nonoverlapping squares inside the unit square. Let f(n) and g(n) denote the maximum values of the sum of the edge lengths of the n small squares, where in the case of f(n) the maximum is taken over all arbitrary packings of the unit square, and in the case of g(n) it is taken over all tilings of the unit square (i.e., the total area of the n ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

Bootstrapping unit root AR(1) models. [PDF]
We propose abootstrap resampling scheme for the least squares estimator of the parameter of an unstable first-order autoregressive model and we prove its asymptotic validity. This method is alternative to the invalid one studied by Basawa et al.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

(4-Methoxyphenyl)(4-propylcyclohexyl)methanone
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C17H24O2, contains two independent molecules with different conformations. The least-squares plane through the cyclohexane ring makes dihedral angles of 52.9 (5) and 81.4 (4)° with the benzene ...
