Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Von Neumann Entropy Penalization and Low Rank Matrix Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A problem of statistical estimation of a Hermitian nonnegatively definite matrix of unit trace (for instance, a density matrix in quantum state tomography) is studied.

Graph Isomorphism for unit square graphs

open access: yes, 2016
In the past decades for more and more graph classes the Graph Isomorphism Problem was shown to be solvable in polynomial time. An interesting family of graph classes arises from intersection graphs of geometric objects. In this work we show that the Graph Isomorphism Problem for unit square graphs, intersection graphs of axis-parallel unit squares in ...

Groups of Negations on the Unit Square [PDF]

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
The main results are about the groups of the negations on the unit square, which is considered as a bilattice. It is proven that all the automorphisms on it form a group; the set, containing the monotonic isomorphisms and the strict negations of the first (or the second or the third) kind, with the operator “composition,” is a groupG2(orG3orG4 ...

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Improved LS-SVM Boiler Combustion Model Based on Affinity Propagation

open access: yesIEEE Access
In the global effort to promote green energy policies, understanding and optimizing boiler combustion processes in coal-fired power plants is crucial. During unit start-ups, shutdowns, and load deep peak regulation, significant energy-saving potential ...

Units from square-roots of rational numbers

open access: yes, 2022
Let $D,Q$ be natural numbers, $(D,Q)=1$, such that $D/Q>1$ and $D/Q$ is not a square. Let $q$ be the smallest divisor of $Q$ such that $Q|\, q^2$. We show that the units $>1$ of the ring $\mathbb Z[\sqrt{Dq^2/Q}]$ are connected with certain convergents of $\sqrt{D/Q}$.

ON-LINE COVERING THE UNIT SQUARE BY SQUARES AND THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL UNIT CUBE BY CUBES

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 1995
Among others the following results are proved: The unit square can be on-line covered by every sequence of squares of the total area at least \(7/4 \cdot {\root 3 \of {9}} + 13/8 \cong 5.265\). The cube \(I^3\) permits an on-line covering by every sequence of three- dimensional cubes of the total volume at least \(143/32 + 3/8 \cdot (9/2)^{3/4} + 63/8 \

Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.
