On the Douglas-Kazakov phase transition
We give a rigorous proof of the fact that a phase transition discovered by Douglas and Kazakov in 1993 in the context of two-dimensional gauge theories occurs. This phase transition can be formulated in terms of the Brownian bridge on

Double cells for unitary groups
Let K be the complexification of a maximal compact subgroup of U(p, q). We prove that the associated variety of an irreducible Harish-Chandra module for U(p, q) with trivial infinitesimal character is the closure of a single nilpotent orbit.

The positioning of parental engagement within England's current educational policy landscape
Abstract Parental engagement with children's learning is strongly linked with improved outcomes for children and has thus become a major focus of educational policy around the world. Yet to date, there has been little scrutiny of how parental engagement is positioned within policy documents, nor how this relates to parental engagement practices.

On Some Sampling-Related Frames in U-Invariant Spaces
This paper is concerned with the characterization as frames of some sequences in U-invariant spaces of a separable Hilbert space ℋ where U denotes an unitary operator defined on ℋ; besides, the dual frames having the same form are also found.

A typology of schools across the four nations of the United Kingdom: Class, race and geography
Abstract In this paper we analyse the hierarchical field of schools across the United Kingdom during the transition to university and suggest that there are five socially distinct clusters of schools. Our five‐cluster typology of UK schools is composed of an established group of elite private and state schools, schools for the white rural and suburban ...

Dynamics for holographic codes
We describe how to introduce dynamics for the holographic states and codes introduced by Pastawski, Yoshida, Harlow and Preskill. This task requires the definition of a continuous limit of the kinematical Hilbert space which we argue may be achieved via ...

ABSTRACT Using data from the 2019 Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) 3‐year cohort, this article presents a validation study of the 2017 version of CCSSE. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were implemented to investigate the psychometric properties and construct validity with strategies to address missing data.

Groups normalized by the odd unitary group [PDF]
We will give a definition of quadratic forms on bimodules and prove the sandwich classification theorem for subgroups of the general linear group $\mathrm{GL}(P)$ normalized by the elementary unitary group $\mathrm{EU}(P)$ if $P$ is a nondegenerate bimodule with large enough hyperbolic part.
