Unitary Representations of Locally Compact Groups
As was mentioned in n° 15 and 23, a representation of a lcg G is a homomorphism \(x\mapsto\;U(x)\) from G to the group of invertible continuous operators of a Banach space \( \mathcal{H}\) such that the map \( x\longmapsto\;U(x)\boldsymbol{\rm{a}}\) is continuous for all \(\boldsymbol{\rm{a}} \in \mathcal{H}\).

Unitary Representations of Locally Compact Groups I
Annals of Mathematics, 1950We continue the study of unitary representations of locally compact groups begun in (3). Whereas (3) dealt to a large extent with discrete groups, the problems of the present paper are mainly relevant in the case of nondiscrete groups. Let g -+ U(g) be a unitary representation U of a group G by means of unitary operators U(g) acting in a separable ...

Unitary Representations of Inductive Limits of Commutative Locally Compact Groups
Mathematics and Its Applications Soviet Series, 1991This section could also be called: families of commuting unitary operators. But here we will be mainly concerned with commutative groups of unitary operators, the study of which is reduced to the study of countable collections of commuting self-adjoint operators.
