Optical Fiber Meta‐Tips Based on Partial‐Phase Control

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Optical fibers working as beam splitters or focusing lens are demonstrated, with the aid of a metasurface integrated on the fiber end facet. Metasurfaces based on meta‐atoms featuring partial control of the phase are considered unleashing their potential.

TAX POTENTIAL OF THE REGION, PECULIARITIES OF ITS DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

open access: yesФінансово-кредитна діяльність: проблеми теорії та практики, 2017
The slowdown in economic growth highlights the problem of developing tax capacity at various levels, therefore the article is devoted to the consideration of practical aspects of the assessment of the tax potential. On the example of the Belgorod region,

Entanglement changing power of two-qubit unitary operations

open access: yes, 2004
We consider a two-qubit unitary operation along with arbitrary local unitary operations acts on a two-qubit pure state, whose entanglement is C_0. We give the conditions that the final state can be maximally entangled and be non-entangled. When the final

Comparison of unitary transforms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We analyze the problem of comparing unitary transformations. The task is to decide, with minimal resources and maximal reliability, whether two given unitary transformations are identical or different.

Optical Self‐Tuning of Ferroelectric Metasurfaces Infiltrated with Nematic Liquid Crystals via Photovoltaic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A novel scheme is introduced to achieve optical self‐tuning in ferroelectric lithium niobate (LN) metasurfaces equipped with a thin film of liquid crystals (LCs). The resonant optical field distributions inside the meta‐atoms can induce a photovoltaic (PV) field, which reorients the surrounding LCs.

Topology Optimization Enables Freeform Matrix Fourier Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A topology‐optimized freeform metasurface is designed and fabricated to realize matrix Fourier optics, enabling the diffraction of multiple polarization states into distinct far‐field orders. By combining forward design with gradient‐based inverse optimization, high polarization contrast of up to 98.7% is achieved.

Correlation Lengths and Topological Entanglement Entropies of Unitary and Non-Unitary Fractional Quantum Hall Wavefunctions

open access: yes, 2015
Using the newly developed Matrix Product State (MPS) formalism for non-abelian Fractional Quantum Hall (FQH) states, we address the question of whether a FQH trial wave function written as a correlation function in a non-unitary Conformal Field Theory ...

Modeling Electrical Transport in Random Networks Composed of Metal‐Oxide Nanowires: The Transition from Junction‐Dominated to Nanowire‐Dominated Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
This study proposes a model for the electrical transport properties of random networks of metal oxide nanowires. Based on the characteristic lengths and energies of nanowires, it allows for discussing the transition from the junction‐dominated to the nanowire‐dominated transport regime.
