Periodicity and perfect state transfer of Grover walks on quadratic unitary Cayley graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The quadratic unitary Cayley graph $\mathcal{G}_{\Zl_n}$ has vertex set $\mathbb{Z}_n: =\{0,1, \hdots ,n-1\}$, where two vertices $u$ and $v$ are adjacent if and only if $u - v$ or $v-u$ is a square of some units in $\mathbb{Z}_n$. This paper explores the periodicity and perfect state transfer of Grover walks on quadratic unitary Cayley graphs.

Microwave Power Dependence of Electric Dipole Spin Resonance

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
The electric dipole spin resonance mediated by spin–orbit interaction (SOI) in quantum dots is analyzed. When the SOI Hamiltonian is proportional to the cube of the momentum operator, the effective spin Hamiltonian includes a residual spin‐momentum coupling term.

Designing Majorana Quasiparticles in InAsP Quantum Dots in InP Nanowires with Variational Quantum Eigenvalue Solver

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
This work explores the design of Majorana zero modes in InAsP quatum dots within InP nanowires coupled to a p‐type superconductor. Using atomistic calculations, exact diagonalization, and the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) method, a variational ansatz for capturing ground state in the topological phase is introduced.

Emergent unitary designs for encoded qubits from coherent errors and syndrome measurements [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Unitary $k$-designs are distributions of unitary gates that match the Haar distribution up to its $k$-th statistical moment. They are a crucial resource for randomized quantum protocols. However, their implementation on encoded logical qubits is nontrivial due to the need for magic gates, which can require a large resource overhead.

Magnetic Hopfions as Local Rotations of the Uniform Magnetization Background

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
The Hopf mapping of 3D coordinate space to the unit sphere m2 = 1 in the magnetization space m(r) can be parametrized by some angles. These angles are used to define a local rotation matrix to restore the hopfion magnetization configuration from the uniformly magnetized state for any Hopf indices.

Data assimilation errors due to incomplete accounting of balanced versus unbalanced moisture

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
We investigate data assimilation strategies with moisture and assess the impact of accounting for moisture's balanced and unbalanced components. To illustrate the main ideas, examples are presented using a simple model consisting of linear, moist, shallow‐water equations with stochastic forcing.

A three‐phase three‐level converter with shared flying capacitors

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, EarlyView., 2023
Three‐phase multilevel converters use a high number of components which increases their size. As specific weight reduction is a work of interest for embedded system applications, this paper presents a topology aiming to optimize volume and mass for a three‐level three‐phase inverter. The number of passive and active components is reduced thanks to the ‘
