Translation symmetry restoration under random unitary dynamics

Physical review B
The finite parts of a large, locally interacting many-body system prepared out of equilibrium eventually equilibrate. Characterizing the underlying mechanisms of this process and its timescales, however, is particularly hard as it requires one to ...

Unitary Law of State Takings

Planning & Environmental Law, 2010
The Supreme Court’s recent decision in Stop the Beach Renourishment has potential ramifications extending well beyond its narrow holding on rights of accretion or even its widely anticipated discussion of judicial takings.

Unitary Structure of Orbital States

1981
In principle it is possible to analyse the permutational symmetry of orbital states entirely in terms of the symmetric group, and for the nuclear states this approach has been adopted in [KR 69, 69a, 72]. The use of the unitary and general linear groups for the same purpose can be justified both on physical and mathematical grounds.

Random ensembles of symplectic and unitary states are indistinguishable

arXiv.org
A unitary state $t$-design is an ensemble of pure quantum states whose moments match up to the $t$-th order those of states uniformly sampled from a $d$-dimensional Hilbert space.

Quasi-coherent states for unitary groups

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1985
A generalization of the notion of coherent state, developed by this author and others, is extended to the unitary groups. The construction of ''quasi-coherent states'', an over-complete set of states which transform according to a given irreducible representation of a compact Lie group G, is the goal.
