From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Universality of slip avalanches in flowing granular matter

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Whether the deformation of amorphous materials is governed by universal scaling, a characteristic feature of the critical phenomena, is currently under debate. Here, Denisov et al.

Universal adhesives - a new direction in the development of adhesive systems

open access: yesČeská Stomatologie a Praktické Zubní Lékařství, 2020
Objectives: In the past decade, many new adhesive systems labeled as universal were introduced. Their common characteristic is that they can be applied to hard dental tissues either in self-etch or etch-and-rinse mode, and they are also able to bond to ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

泛灰数学在平面刚体导引连杆机构综合中的应用

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2002
This paper focuses on the method of solving the non-linear equation arising form the synthesis of plane rigid guidance. Based on the concept of universal Grey number and the rules of four algebraic operation of universal Grey number,it is introduced ...

Formation of universal learning activities of younger schoolchildren as a pedagogical problem

open access: yesВестник Тамбовского университета. Серия: Гуманитарные науки, 2018
Formation of universal learning activities in the system of elementary education as a pedagogical problem is considered. The bases of “universal learning activities” notion are revealed.

Universalities of earthquake-network characteristics [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Science Bulletin, 2011
The scale-free and small-world properties are studied in detail for the complex earthquake networks constructed from the seismic data sets taken from California (USA), Japan, Iran and Chile. It is found that, in all these geographical regions, both the exponent γ of the power-law connectivity distribution and the clustering coefficient C take the ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...
