The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
1966In 1948, the General Assembly by a vote of 48 to none with 8 abstentions proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.1 The Declaration contains civil and political rights including procedural standards of fairness in arrest, detention and trial, and social, cultural and economic rights.
