Universal integral controllers with non-linear integral gains
International Journal of Control, 2004We consider a single-input single-output minimum-phase non-linear system which has a normal form. In previous work, integral control and high-gain observers were used to achieve robust regulation under output feedback. To improve the transient performance, we propose the use of integrators with non-linear gains.

Integrating ICT in Universities
2004Universities adopt the most progressive, technologically speaking, methods of research and education. Nevertheless, the adoption of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) appears to be necessarily accompanied by a deep shift in the organization of work, and this adoption must to be included in a wider teaching and learning strategy.

Improved Performance of Universal Integral Regulators
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2002The paper is concerned with the design of an integral control for mi\-ni\-mum-phase nonlinear systems modeled by \[ \left\{\begin{aligned} \dot x&=f(x,\theta) + g(x,\theta)u,\\ y&= h(x,\theta), \end{aligned}\right. \] where \(x\in\mathbb R^n\) is the state, \(u\in\mathbb R\) is the control input, and \(y\in\mathbb R\) is the measured output.

Universal integralism: Ken Wilber's integral method in context.
The Humanistic Psychologist, 2009This article is an inquiry into Ken Wilber's integral epistemology as applied to social systems, namely, through organizations and leadership. It explicates the constructionist component inherent in the universalist nature of AQAL theory (a framework covering all quadrants, all levels, all lines, all states, all types).

Universal Integrable Nonlinear PDEs
1993The results reported at the Exeter meeting are briefly reviewed. Some results obtained during that meeting, motivated by findings of which I became aware there, are reported. In particular it is noted that the “universal” S-integrable equation which describes in the limit of weak nonlinearity and in appropriately rescaled time and space variables, the ...
