The thermal conductivity of alternating spin chains
We study a class of integrable alternating (S1,S2) quantum spin chains with critical ground state properties. Our main result is the description of the thermal Drude weight of the one-dimensional alternating spin chain as a function of temperature.

Integration of refugees at universities: Austria’s more initiative [PDF]
Abstract The so-called refugee wave in the summer of 2015 led to an impressive wave of helpfulness in Austrian society. Universities Austria (uniko)—the umbrella organization of the 22 public universities in Austria—set up and launched an initiative called MORE.

Finite temperature fidelity susceptibility for one-dimensional quantum systems
We calculate the fidelity susceptibility chi_f for the Luttinger model and show that there is a universal contribution linear in temperature T (or inverse length 1/L).

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Extending the Universal One-Loop Effective Action: heavy-light coefficients
The Universal One-Loop Effective Action (UOLEA) is a general expression for the effective action obtained by evaluating in a model-independent way the one-loop expansion of a functional path integral.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

An Integral Representation of the Logarithmic Function with Applications in Information Theory
We explore a well-known integral representation of the logarithmic function, and demonstrate its usefulness in obtaining compact, easily computable exact formulas for quantities that involve expectations and higher moments of the logarithm of a positive ...
