Linking Universal Kriging and Reservoir History Matching
Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1993ABSTRACT This paper describes how the framework developed for universal kriging can accommodate a general formulation of the reservoir history matching problem. We illustrate this framework with simple examples, and then show that the specification of the required covariances and correlations provides an opportunity to introduce ...

Optimization of sample patterns for universal kriging of environmental variables
Geoderma, 2007The quality of maps obtained by interpolation of observations of a target environmental variable at a restricted number of locations, is partly determined by the spatial pattern of the sample locations. A method is presented for optimization of the sample pattern when the environmental variable is interpolated with the help of exhaustively known ...

Optimal contour mapping using universal kriging
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1974Currently available procedures for automatic contouring are unsatisfactory from both theoretical and practical viewpoints. The theory of regionalized variables allows formulation of a superior contouring algorithm. The theory of regionalized variables has been developed by G.

Phosphorus-enriched agriculture runoff is believed to be the leading cause of ecosystem changes of Everglades wetlands. To study this effect, it is necessary to estimate the area of the affected region. In this study, Bayesian kriging and universal kriging were used to estimate the area by analysing the data collected by Reddy et al. (1991).
