Polymorphism of feldspars above 10 GPa

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Feldspars are stable at pressures up to 3 GPa along the mantle geotherm, but they can persist metastably at higher pressures at colder conditions. Here, above 10 GPa the authors find  new high-pressure polymorphs of feldspars that could persist at depths

Topologically protected colloidal transport above a square magnetic lattice

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We theoretically study the motion of magnetic colloidal particles above a magnetic pattern and compare the predictions with Brownian dynamics simulations. The pattern consists of alternating square domains of positive and negative magnetization.

Neural force functional for non-equilibrium many-body colloidal systems

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
We combine power functional theory and machine learning to study non-equilibrium overdamped many-body systems of colloidal particles at the level of one-body fields.

Recuerdo y comunicación: sociohermenéutica de rituales de memoria

open access: yesArbor: Ciencia, Pensamiento y Cultura, 2013
El análisis de rituales performativos de memoria supone un reto metodológico para la investigación social interpretativa, ya que las interacciones rituales están inscritas en un contexto más amplio, que está determinado por las tradiciones simbólicas y ...

Bacterioferritin of Magnetospirillum gryphiswaldense Is a Heterotetraeicosameric Complex Composed of Functionally Distinct Subunits but Is Not Involved in Magnetite Biomineralization

open access: yesmBio, 2019
The biomineralization pathway of magnetite in magnetotactic bacteria is still poorly understood and a matter of intense debates. In particular, the existence, nature, and location of possible mineral precursors of magnetite are not clear.

Pressure tuning of charge ordering in iron oxide

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
The charge order transition of commonly known magnetite has only recently been unraveled. Here, the measurement of the low-temperature high-pressure phase diagram of a related material (Fe4O5) elucidates the interplay of average oxidation state and ...

Allergenicity and structural properties of new Cor a 1 isoallergens from hazel identified in different plant tissues

open access: yesScientific Reports
The hazel allergen Cor a 1 is a PR-10 protein, closely related to the major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1. Hazel allergies are caused by cross-reactive IgE antibodies originally directed against Bet v 1.
