On Universal Operators and Universal Pairs [PDF]
AbstractWe study some basic properties of the class of universal operators on Hilbert spaces, and provide new examples of universal operators and universal pairs.

University lecturers’ construction of the ‘ideal’ undergraduate student [PDF]
Research on the ‘ideal’ or ‘good’ student tends to be situated within compulsory schooling. Few recent studies have focused on lecturers’ conceptualisation and construction of the ‘ideal’ university student.

UNIVERSAL GRAPHS AND UNIVERSAL PERMUTATIONS [PDF]
Let X be a family of graphs and Xn the set of n-vertex graphs in X. A graph U(n) containing all graphs from Xn as induced subgraphs is called n-universal for X. Moreover, we say that U(n) is a propern-universal graph for X if it belongs to X. In the present paper, we construct a proper n-universal graph for the class of split permutation graphs.

Universal CARs, universal T cells, and universal CAR T cells [PDF]
Currently, the two approved T cell products with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) are from autologous T cells. These CAR T cells approved for clinical use must be generated on a custom-made basis. This case-by-case autologous T cell production platform remains a significant limiting factor for large-scale clinical application due to the costly and ...

The supercooled universe [PDF]
Abstract Strongly-coupled theories at the TeV can naturally drive a long period of supercooling in the early universe. Trapped into the deconfined phase, the universe could inflate and cool down till the temperature reaches the QCD strong scale.

Universal Grammar is a Universal Grammar [PDF]
Language is the most distinctive feature of humans, but there is no consensus on what is characteristic of language. From the point of view of computing, we argue that ‘the human brain circuitry that implements language is Turing complete’. This thesis makes evolutionary sense and natural languages are expressive enough, but two issues against it ...

Maxwell’s equations in vacuum provide the negative speed of light $-c$, which leads to imaginary Planck units. However, the second, negative fine-structure constant $\alpha_2^{-1} \approx -140.178$, present in the Fresnel coefficients for the normal incidence of electromagnetic radiation on monolayer graphene, establishes the different ...

It is shown that the mysterious quantum prescription of microphysics has analogues at the scale of stars, galaxies and superclusters, the common feature in all these cases being Brownian type fractality. These considerations are shown to lead to pleasingly meaningful results in agreement with observed data.
