Aged ZnO Nanoparticles Promote Breast Cancer Lung Metastasis by Remodeling the Pulmonary Microenvironment Through the CXCL10/Wnt/β‐Catenin Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In summary, pulmonary exposure to ZnO NPs, particularly aged NPs, promotes breast cancer metastasis by remodelling the lung tumour microenvironment. Aged ZnO NPs enrich M2‐macrophages, MDSCs and activated CAFs to form an immunosuppressive metastatic niche. CXCL10 from these cells drives metastasis via Wnt/β‐catenin activation.

PDHA1 Hyperactivation‐Mediated Glucose Metabolism Reprogramming Fuels Neutrophil NETosis and Promotes Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During NETosis, neutrophils shift metabolically toward enhanced OXPHOS and partially reduced glycolysis. This shift is driven by PDHA1 hyperactivity‐dependent selective metabolic reprogramming. The neutrophil‐targeted nanoparticle 3‑FP‑BSA NPs effectively inhibit NETosis and attenuate ALI.

Interface‐Confined Cavitation at an MXene/TiO2 Schottky Heterointerface for Non‐Thermal Juice Preservation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work establishes an MXene/TiO2 Schottky heterointerface for non‐thermal sonocatalysis. Interface‐confined cavitation and dynamic Ti3+/V₀ shuttles drive charge transport and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. The platform achieves 3‐log pathogen reduction while retaining heat‐labile nutrients in complex food matrices, redefining sonocatalyst

A CT Lesion Foundation Model for Non‐Invasive Assessment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Aggressiveness and Prediction of Recurrence Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A computed tomography lesion foundation model, built by sequential self‐supervised pretraining on generic and hepatocellular carcinoma‐specific lesion images, non‐invasively assesses microvascular invasion and pathological grade from contrast‐enhanced CT and stratifies postoperative recurrence risk.

Now we don’t see the university as something distant. It’s here in our hands’: situated pedagogy in Cuban municipal universities

open access: yes, 1903
The first years of the twenty-first century saw the introduction of a new mode of higher education in Cuba. Local university centres were set up across the country offering part time study to a range of students previously marginalised from higher ...

Children's University: a Question Pedagogy?

open access: yes, 2009
EAFIT Children's University is based on questions that children ask out loud during workshops. We take them as triggering stimuli to make experiences to build knowledge that are dynamic, significant and joyful.
