Pneumoperitoneum or Chilaiditi’s sign [PDF]

open access: yesMalaysian Family Physician, 2016
Chilaiditi’s sign describes the incidental radiographic finding of the bowel positioned between the right diaphragm and the liver. This is often misdiagnosed as pneumoperitoneum or free air under the diaphragm, which may lead to unnecessary ...

What you should know about emphysematous vaginitis?

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2019
Emphysematous vaginitis represents a rare and self‐limited condition, which presents with vaginal discharge. Despite its benignity, it has some worrisome imaging features, which should be recognized in order to avoid unnecessary invasive procedures.

Biliary Pseudolithiasis in Children: To Avoid Unnecessary Surgical Procedure

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Association of Pediatric Surgeons, 2014
Gallbladder stones in children are not common without underlying hemolytic diseases or other risk factors like obesity. Ceftriaxone, a third generation cephalosporin, is known to make biliary precipitations that can be mistaken for biliary stones. We here report two children with biliary pseudolithiasis with different treatment modalities.

CliqueStream: an efficient and fault-resilient live streaming network on a clustered peer-to-peer overlay

open access: yes, 2008
Several overlay-based live multimedia streaming platforms have been proposed in the recent peer-to-peer streaming literature. In most of the cases, the overlay neighbors are chosen randomly for robustness of the overlay.

Alkali Ion‐Incorporated HfO2 Dielectrics for Reconfigurable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) transistor with an alkali cation‐integrated hafnium dioxide (HfO2) dielectric exhibiting synaptic behavior via ion retention. The solution‐based film fabrication strategy overcomes the limitations of atomic layer deposition (ALD) and precursor coating, enabling the control of synaptic retention ...

Stretchable p/n‐Pair Thermoelectric Fibers Based on Core (Ag)–Shell (Ag2Se) Structure for Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Stretchable p/n‐pair Ag@Ag2Se TE fibers are developed for next‐generation fiber‐based electronics. The TE fibers maintain excellent electrical conductivity and a high Seebeck coefficient under strain. Integrated into textiles, they enable simultaneous temperature and strain sensing, as well as energy harvesting, offering great potential for ...

CORRELATION OF FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION AND FINAL HISTOPATHOLOGY IN THYROID DISEASE: A SERIES OF 702 PATIENTS MANAGED IN AN ENDOCRINE SURGICAL UNIT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Thyroid nodules are a common clinical entity found among the adult general population. With increasing use of imaging investigations like ultrasonography, there has been a significant rise in the detection of non-palpable thyroid nodules that require ...

In Materia Shaping of Randomness with a Standard Complementary Metal‐Oxide‐Semiconductor Transistor for Task‐Adaptive Entropy Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study establishes a materials‐driven framework for entropy generation within standard CMOS technology. By electrically rebalancing gate‐oxide traps and Si‐channel defects in foundry‐fabricated FDSOI transistors, the work realizes in‐materia control of temporal correlation – achieving task adaptive entropy optimization for reinforcement learning ...
