Cognitive Heterogeneous Networks with Best Relay Selection over Unreliable Backhaul Connections
2017 IEEE 86th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall), 2017In this paper, we investigate the impacts of unreliable backhaul connections on cognitive heterogeneous networks with best relay selection. Since spectrum sharing is employed, the transmit powers of the small-cell transmitter and relays are constrained by the peak interference at the primary user, as well as their maximum transmit powers.

2022 18th International Conference on Wireless and Mobile Computing, Networking and Communications (WiMob), 2022
This paper investigates the impact of unreliable backhaul and channel estimation error on the performance of small-cell networks over independent and identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channels. To overcome the impact of these practical constraints, we propose an optimal selection scheme where the best small cell with respect to the maximal ...

FiWi enhanced LTE-A HetNets with unreliable fiber backhaul sharing and WiFi offloading
2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM), 2015To cope with the unprecedented growth of mobile data traffic, we investigate the performance gains obtained from unifying coverage-centric 4G mobile networks and capacity-centric fiber-wireless (FiWi) broadband access networks based on data-centric Ethernet technologies with resulting fiber backhaul sharing and WiFi offloading capabilities.

Cooperative Cognitive Non-Orthgonal Multiple Access Under Unreliable Backhaul Connections
Mobile Networks and Applications, 2018In this paper, we investigate the performance of energy-harvesting communications with decode-and-forward relay in the presence of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) multiple access and cognitive radio spectrum sharing. We study three cases of single transmitter single relay and various transmitters and relays with two selection strategies (called ...

Multiuser full-duplex relaying with unreliable backhauls under spectrum sharing environment
2018 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2018In this paper, we investigate the effect of unreliable wireless backhaul links on the outage performance for cognitive full-duplex relay (FDR) networks with best user selection over frequency-selective fading channels. Due to FDR operation, the primary user (PU) is interfered by the selected small-cell transmitter and FDR node simultaneously.

Secrecy performance of finite-sized cooperative full-duplex relay systems with unreliable backhauls
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017This paper investigates secrecy performance of finite-sized cooperative full-duplex relay (FDR) systems with unreliable wireless backhaul connections across multiple transmitters under Nakagami- $m$ fading. Closed-form expressions for the secrecy outage probability and probability of nonzero achievable secrecy rate are derived in terms of self ...

Multiuser Relay Networks Over Unreliable Backhaul Links Under Spectrum Sharing Environment
IEEE Communications Letters, 2017The effects of unreliable backhaul links on cognitive relay networks with best user selection over Nakagami- $m$ fading are investigated. In particular, closed-form expressions for the critical performance metrics are derived along with the asymptotic performance to obtain insights into the impact of the backhaul reliability and multiuser ...

Performance analysis of JT-CoMP transmission In Heterogeneous Network over unreliable backhaul
2015 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT), 2015In Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) co-channel inter-cell interference (ICI) is a serious concern. Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) transmission has been emerged as a promising solution to downlink ICI in HetNets. But, the performance of CoMP transmission largely depends on the nature of backhaul network over which huge X2 signaling are executed among ...

Outage probability of energy harvesting relay systems under unreliable backhaul connections
2018 2nd International Conference on Recent Advances in Signal Processing, Telecommunications & Computing (SigTelCom), 2018In this paper, the performance of energy harvesting systems in the presence of unreliable backhaul links is investigated over independent but not necessarily identically distributed (i.n.i.d.) Nakagami-m fading channels. In particular, the energy-constrained relay uses the amount of harvested energy from the best small-cell transmitter based on time ...
