A new species of cypridinid (Myodocopina) ostracod is described. This species, from off the west coat of Tasmania, is a scavenger. It occurs in an area of relatively high diversity of scavenging crustaceans, and exhibits feeding limbs well equipped for scavenging.

This paper presents data from the first major survey of the diversity, biology and fisheries of elasmobranchs in the Persian (Arabian) Gulf. Substantial landings of elasmobranchs, usually as gillnet by‐catch, were recorded in Kuwait, Qatar and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (part of the United Arab Emirates), although larger elasmobranchs from targeted line ...

Two unreported genera and their included species of the shore-fly tribe Scatellini Wirth and Stone that occur in the New Zealand subregion are reviewed. One genus, Haloscatella Mathis, is represented by three species in the subregion and Limnellia Malloch by two. Three of the species, all in the genus Haloscatella, are new (type locality in parenthesis)

For the purpose of determining whether foxtail midges occurred in Canada and if so their range, a survey of places where meadow foxtail grass, Alope curus pratensis L. was known to be grown was made in the spring of 1934. This survey followed a request for information upon the point by Dr. L. E. Kirk, Dominion Agrostologist, on behalf of Dr. R.

Abstract Nuclear-encoded 18S and partial 26S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequences of Alexandrium hiranoi, A. leei and A. satoanum were analyzed for the first time. The sequences of the 26S rDNA D1–D3 region of A. affine, A. catenella, A. fraterculus and A. tamarense were also determined.

The whole molluscan assemblages along the Turkish coasts of the Aegean Sea and the Levantine Sea (Southern Turkish coasts), were studied from 20 stations at depths ranging from 11 m to 69 m, between August and October 2014. This has resulted in new contribution to Mediterranean marine molluscan fauna.

The excessive use of non-biodegradable polyethene (PE) contributes significantly to environmental pollution due to its persistence and accumulation in the environment. This study explores the utilisation of thermally degraded polyethene plastic waste (PEPW) into biodegradable poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) [P(3HB-co-3HV)] using a novel ...

Phytoparasitica
When encountering an insect species that targets high-value plants, such as acacia in large-scale tree programs like the Great Green Wall (GGW), it is essential to assess the phytosanitary risks associated with this species. When it has not previously been described locally, accurate taxonomic identification is a crucial pre-requisite.
