The present study generated the corrosion performance of C‐steel, zinc, and galvanized steel in different global unsaturated soil environments for 2 years. Acceptable matching was observed between corrosion rates and identified corrosion products. To properly predict soil corrosion, the results showed that DIN 50929 should include a drainage‐capability

Modelling large deformation problems in unsaturated soils
Applications of unsaturated soil mechanics often involve large deformations and displacements. This is the case of collapse behaviour of low density soils or the unrestrained swelling of expansive clays.

Multi‐element electrical resistance probes fabricated from industrial carbon steels enable real‐time corrosion monitoring in natural seawater and soil. A micro‐alloyed grade (AMLoCor) demonstrates up to 2.4 times improved uniform corrosion resistance over conventional S355 GP steel.

Experimental unsaturated soil mechanics
In this general report, experimental systems and procedures of investigating the hydro-mechanical behaviour of unsaturated soils are presented. The water retention properties of unsaturated soils are commented and linked to various physical parameters and properties of the soils.

Numerical Modeling of Geological Fault Reactivation Using Sequential Coupling Strategies
ABSTRACT The interaction between fluid flow and mechanical deformation in fault zones can lead to processes of fault reactivation, triggering potential geomechanical problems such as seismicity, well collapse, fluid migration to shallower layers, and aggravated surface subsidence.

Overshooting of Hypoplastic Models With Intergranular Strain: Manifestation, Implications and Remedy
ABSTRACT Intergranular strain extensions of hypoplasticity (IGS, ISA, GIS) are widely used to model small‐strain and cyclic soil behaviour. However, recent studies and our own simulations reveal that these models can exhibit stress overshooting not only under repeated small loading cycles but also during monotonic loading.

Potential of Thermoset Polyolefins for FRP Concrete Reinforcing Bars
Overview of XLPO and pDCPD resins for FRP reinforcing bars, highlighting resin chemistry, key performance characteristics, fiber sizing interactions, and principal degradation mechanisms in concrete environments. ABSTRACT Although thermoset polyolefins offer resistance to hydrolytic degradation and favorable processing characteristics, their potential ...

Chemical Recycling as a Tool for Enabling a Second Life for Polyesters
This review presents the elucidation of the life cycle of main polyesters, detailing end‐of‐life methods, with focus of solvolysis technologies, then an analysis of LCA and TEA on literature data, an original data analytic, and, finally, a current industrial mapping of the main processes with a critical perspective on the plastic life‐cycle ecosystem ...

ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is an endocrine‐related cancer highly dependent on androgenic signaling. Beyond hormone dependence, extrinsic factors play a significant role in the risk of developing PCa, which raises concern about the influence of environmental compounds such as endocrine‐disrupting chemicals (EDCs). Tributyltin (TBT) is an EDC used in
