Let ( X , L ) (X,L) be a polarised manifold. We show that K-stability and asymptotic Chow stability of the blowup of X X along a 0 0 -dimensional cycle are closely related to Chow stability of the cycle itself, for polarisations making the exceptional divisors ...

For several decades, our understanding of the pathogenesis of unstable atherosclerotic lesions has continued to grow. A consistent picture of unstable plaque structure, inflammation, matrix degradation, and prothrombotic activity is emerging. Meanwhile, the mortality rates for coronary artery disease in the United States have steadily declined.1 ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Molecular genetics of microsatellite-unstable colorectal cancer for pathologists
BackgroundMicrosatellite-unstable colorectal cancers (CRC) that are due to deficient DNA mismatch repair (dMMR) represent approximately 15% of all CRCs in the United States.

At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

A stable and strongly ferromagnetic Fe17O10 – cluster with an accordion-like structure
Isolated clusters are ideal systems for tailoring molecule-based magnets and investigating the evolution of magnetic order from microscopic to macroscopic regime.

High resolution simulations of unstable modes in a collisionless disc
We present N-body simulations of unstable spiral modes in a dynamically cool collisionless disc. We show that spiral modes grow in a thin collisionless disk in accordance with the analytical perturbation theory.
