Inflammation, Immunity, and Cardiovascular Diseases

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 343-370, June 2026.
Cardiovascular stress signals (e.g., hemodynamic shear, oxidized lipids, and ischemia) act on endothelial and immune cells to activate and amplify inflammation through NF‐κB, the NLRP3 inflammasome, and JAK/STAT signaling, inducing proinflammatory cytokines/chemokines (IL‐6, IL‐1β, TNF‐α, and CCL2) and self‐amplifying circuits; clinically, inflammatory

Development and Validation of a Nomogram Incorporating Preoperative N‐Terminal Pro‐Brain Natriuretic Peptide to Predict Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events in Renal Transplant Recipients

open access: yesOrgan Medicine, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 63-75, June 2026.
We developed and validated a preoperative nomogram incorporating NT‐proBNP to predict major adverse cardiovascular events in renal transplant recipients. Using a LASSO‐Cox model based on 582 training and 181 validation cases, we identified NT‐proBNP, age, body mass index, diabetes, and retransplantation as key predictors.

Fibrinopeptide A and platelet factor levels in unstable angina pectoris.

open access: yes, 1987
Fibrinopeptide A, platelet factor 4, beta-thromboglobulin, thromboxane B2, and 6-keto-prostaglandin F1 alpha were estimated by radioimmunoassay on venous plasma samples taken within 48 hr of admission from 16 consecutive patients with unstable angina and

Comparative Effectiveness and Safety of Three Oral Antihypertensive Therapies on Maternal and Infant Outcomes in a California Medicaid Population, 2016–2020

open access: yesPharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To extend the Chronic Hypertension and Pregnancy (CHAP) trial findings, this study compared labetalol, nifedipine, and methyldopa initiation at or before 23 weeks' gestation in pregnant patients with chronic hypertension, examining effects on a composite effectiveness outcome and on small for gestational age birth (SGA).

Optimizing Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis in Burn Patients Using Enoxaparin Through PBPK Modeling

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Burn injuries cause physiological changes that alter enoxaparin pharmacokinetics, often leading to inadequate exposure and suboptimal venous thromboembolism (VTE) prophylaxis. Current weight‐based dosing and anti‐Xa monitoring provide limited guidance for dose optimization across burn severities.

Lower Risk of Cardiovascular Events in Patients With Clinical Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Who Initiated Semaglutide 2.4 mg in the Real‐World: Results From the SCORE—Clinical ASCVD Study

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 6, Page 4975-4990, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the association between semaglutide 2.4 mg and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) among adults with clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and overweight/obesity without diabetes in real‐world clinical practice.

The Effect Modification of Systolic Blood Pressure on the Association of Frailty and Cardiovascular Disease in Community‐Dwelling Adults

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Frailty has been increasingly recognized as an important predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk; however, the modifying role of systolic blood pressure (SBP) in this association remains unclear. Using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, we included 7210 community‐dwelling adults aged ≥45 years and assessed ...

Vital systems, Grand body systems: Cardiovascular systems

open access: yesنشریه پرستاری ایران, 1995
Unstable angina has progressive process and even in rest time, it happens frequently. It is a serious situation and 15-20 percent of patients are dying in duration of one year. Treatment: patients often hospitalized because observation of their reactions

Plasma endothelin-1 in patients with stable or unstable angina

open access: yes, 2005
Background: It has been documented that an elevated endothelin-1 (ET-1) plasma concentration is associated with an increased risk of serious coronary events and the presence of angiographically documented coronary artery disease (CAD).

Poor long‐term cardiovascular risk factor management after acute coronary syndrome: An observational cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 299, Issue 6, Page 726-740, June 2026.
Abstract Background Cardiovascular risk factor control reduces the risk of recurrent events after acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Long‐term post‐ACS management is poorly studied. Objectives To assess frequency of low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) monitoring and target achievement during 3 years post‐ACS ...
