Protocolized REDUction of Non‐Resuscitation Fluids in SEptic Shock Patients. A Protocol for the REDUSE Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 69, Issue 7, August 2025.
ABSTRACT In septic shock, administration of large fluid volumes is associated with poor outcomes. Recent evidence shows that non‐resuscitation fluids are the major modifiable source of fluids for patients with septic shock in intensive care units (ICUs).

Quercetin Reduces Vascular Senescence and Inflammation in Symptomatic Male but Not Female Coronary Artery Disease Patients

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 8, August 2025.
In male patients undergoing CABG surgery, pretreatment with quercetin suppressed inflammaging and its associated inflammation, leading to improved endothelium‐dependent relaxation (measured ex vivo) and reducing new onset of post‐operative atrial fibrillation.

Meta‐Analysis: Effects of Steatotic Liver Disease‐Associated Genetic Risk Alleles on Longitudinal Outcomes

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 62, Issue 3, Page 244-276, August 2025.
Genetic variants associated with risk of steatotic liver disease (SLD) may also influence clinical events. A systematic review and meta‐analysis consisting of 288,423 patients across 40 studies found that variants in PNPLA3, TM6SF2 and MBOAT7 are significantly associated with hepatic outcomes, with modest effects on extrahepatic outcomes.

Efficacy and Safety of Clopidogrel With and Without a Proton Pump Inhibitor: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 137, Issue 2, August 2025.
ABSTRACT Classifications of drug interaction alerts regarding clopidogrel and a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) differ between knowledge resources. In this systematic review, Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Library were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) applying PICO criteria: P = patients on clopidogrel; I = intervention: PPI (subgroup ...
