Quantum Synchronization via Active–Passive Decomposition Configuration: An Open Quantum-System Study

open access: yesEntropy
In this paper, we study the synchronization of dissipative quantum harmonic oscillators in the framework of a quantum open system via the active–passive decomposition (APD) configuration.

Amphoteric Cu‐Doping Leading to High Thermoelectric Performance in p‐Type Bismuth Antimony Telluride

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that Cu plays two opposite roles in p‐type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 depending on the processing route. Under thermodynamic‐equilibrium bulk‐synthesis, Cu mainly occupies cation sites, increases hole concentration, preserves mobility, and slightly reduces lattice heat transport. The best‐performing composition among the investigated series reaches

Rethinking the place of violence : The interrelations between welfare regimes, gender regimes and violence regimes

open access: yes, 2019
What happens when we focus primarily on violence as a central question – either within the gender regime approach or by making violence regime an approach in itself?

Nano Borophene as a Programmable 2D Scaffold for Organized DNA Assembly and Long‐Range Energy Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Borophene is introduced as a programmable 2D bio‐interface that organizes DNA through dual boron–sulfur and nucleobase interactions. This molecular architecture enables efficient long‐range nanosurface energy transfer, establishing new design principles for functional nano–bio interfaces and amplification‐free optical biosensing.

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Hydrodynamic and chemical stability of fluid-fluid reacting interfaces. I. General theory for aperiodic regimes

open access: yes, 1981
Under nonequilibrium conditions, the coupling between surface chemical reactions and hydrodynamics can induce the onset of convection at an interface between two immiscible Newtonian fluids. A linear analysis of interfacial stability is performed for any

Dynamics of entanglement between two harmonic modes in stable and unstable regimes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The exact dynamics of the entanglement between two harmonic modes generated by an angular momentum coupling is examined. Such system arises when considering a particle in a rotating anisotropic harmonic trap or a charged particle in a fixed harmonic ...

Mechanics of Telson Ridges in Mantis Shrimp for Impact Analysis and Implications for Bioinspired Elastic Shell Designs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The mantis shrimp telson reveals how ridged biological shields control deformation under impact. Inspired by this architecture, telson‐inspired ridged curved shells transform ridge geometry and macroscopic curvature into bidirectional snap‐through, tunable stiffness, and enhanced hysteretic energy dissipation for multifunctional architected materials ...

Drop‐on‐Demand Printed Negative Dielectric Anisotropy Liquid Crystal Droplets for Adaptive Complex Beam Manipulation and Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Printed negative‐dielectric‐anisotropy liquid‐crystal droplets enable multidimensional full‐vectorial optical‐field sensing across polarization, phase, and wavelength, while also generating tunable skyrmionic‐like complex optical fields. ABSTRACT Adaptive manipulation of vectorial optical fields is important for optical metrology, imaging, and ...

RECOGNITION OF TRANSITION PATTERNS IN A BUSINESS CYCLE MODEL USING UNSTABLE PERIODIC ORBITS

open access: yes, 2011
More than a thousand unstable periodic orbits with relatively low periods are identified from a continuous dynamical system which represents business cycles of two countries with different fiscal policies.
