Resolving passive heat transfer and phase‐change heat in cryogenic CO2 deposition (Desublimation) from CO2/N2 mixtures

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In cryogenic CO2 desublimation systems where phase change dominates both heat transfer and separation, conventional lumped thermal‐resistance treatments embed interfacial latent heat into an overall heat‐transfer coefficient, obscuring how phase‐change heat is partitioned between the gas phase and the coolant and limiting diagnostic insight ...

Numerical Simulation of a Pitching Airfoil Under Dynamic Stall of Low Reynolds Number Flow [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2019
In this research, viscous, unsteady and turbulent fluid flow is simulated numerically around pitching NACA0012 airfoil in the dynamic stall area. The Navier-Stokes equations are discretized based on the finite volume method and are solved by the PIMPLE ...

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Numerical investigation of the aerodynamic characteristics of high-speed trains of different lengths under crosswind with or without windbreaks

open access: yesEngineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics, 2018
The focus of this study was the influence of the length of a train on its aerodynamic performance, with and without wind break walls, under a crosswind.

System Identification of Robotic Fish Swimming Reveals Roles of Reactive and Resistive Fluid Force in Two Distinct Swimming Gaits

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
System identification and particle image velocimetry reveal how a modular robotic fish changes thrust physics across gaits. A traveling‐wave, fish‐like motion draws thrust from resistive drag, while a resonant standing‐wave motion is driven by reactive pressure.

Force Generation Mechanisms by an Insect Wing in an Idealized Hovering Motion

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2017
An Unsteady force generation mechanisms (delayed stall, wake capture and rotational lift) during idealized hovering of insect flight at Reynolds number (Re) of 136 have been identified in this research. Dependence of flow physics on Re forms the basis of

A minimum-domain impulse theory for unsteady aerodynamic force with discrete wake

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2017
We extend the impulse theory for unsteady aerodynamics, from its classic global form to finite-domain formulation, then to a minimum-domain version for discrete wake. Each extension has been confirmed numerically. The minimum-domain theory indicates that

Histidine Supplementation Stabilizes Hearing and Vision and Improves Growth in HARS1‐Related Autosomal Recessive Disorder Associated With Usher‐Like Symptoms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive HARS1‐related disorder (originally described as Usher syndrome type 3B) caused by a homozygous Y454S variant in the histidyl‐tRNA synthetase gene (HARS1) is characterized by progressive sensorineural hearing and vision loss and respiratory deterioration with risk for sudden death following febrile illnesses.

Numerical Investigation on Flapping Aerodynamic Performance of Dragonfly Wings in Crosswind

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2020
Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the influence of crosswind on the aerodynamic characteristics of rigid dragonfly-like flapping wings through the solution of the three-dimensional unsteady Navier-Stokes equations. The aerodynamic forces,

Research on Evaporation Characteristics and Safe Storage Duration of Marine Liquid Hydrogen Storage Tanks Under the Coupling Effect of Heat Leakage and Sloshing

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Liquid hydrogen, a zero‐carbon and high–energy‐density fuel, is a promising option for future oceangoing vessels. During maritime transportation, onboard cryogenic tanks are exposed to ambient heat leakage and ship‐induced roll motion, which can trigger sloshing and fundamentally modify the coupled thermo‐fluid processes governing boil‐off and
