Unstructured-grid methods development for unsteady aerodynamic and aeroelastic analyses [PDF]
The current status of unstructured grid methods development in the Unsteady Aerodynamics Branch at NASA-Langley is described. These methods are being developed for unsteady aerodynamic and aeroelastic analyses. The flow solvers are highlighted which were

We summarize the current state of knowledge on the age of the Middle Pleistocene ice advances into northern central Europe and provide 25 new single‐grain feldspar luminescence ages of Elsterian and Saalian glacigenic sediments to constrain the age of the ice advances and their tentative correlation with marine isotope stages/substages.

Summary Air embolism is rare in horses and typically associated with complications following intravenous catheterisation or other medical procedures. Exercise‐induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) is common in racehorses but not usually associated with air embolism. This report describes a case of air embolism in a 4‐year‐old Thoroughbred with EIPH. The

Unsteady aerodynamics of an oscillating cascade in a compressible flow field [PDF]
Fundamental experiments were performed in the NASA Lewis Transonic Oscillating Cascade Facility to investigate and quantify the unsteady aerodynamics of a cascade of biconvex airfoils executing torsion-mode oscillations at realistic reduced frequencies ...

ABSTRACT Subaerial Pyroclastic Density Currents (PDCs) and Subaqueous Eruption‐Fed Density Currents (SEFDCs) produced during volcanic eruptions can present major hazards to surrounding communities and ecosystems. The bedforms deposited by these volcanic density currents can provide insights into the nature of transport and depositional processes, which

Abstract This study investigated the effect of severe‐intensity exercise on neuromuscular fatigue (NMF) and torque complexity in two muscle groups of different sizes. The NMF of 11 healthy males was assessed through maximal voluntary contractions at the beginning, every minute and at task failure during intermittent isometric exercise performed at an ...

ABSTRACT Counterflow heat exchangers (CHXs) thermally couple consumers and producers to a district heating network (DHN). Fluctuating loads and control actions naturally lead to unsteady operation conditions of the network and its components, posing a challenge for DHN models and CHX parameterizations based on Nusselt correlations that assume steady ...

Stereoscopic Serpentine Channel‐Based Cold Plate Design for Enhanced Liquid Cooling of EV Batteries
The Graphical Abstract shows a 16‐cell battery pack used in the numerical study, along with temperature contours on the surface of coolant flow channels and a transient average surface temperature plot. A serpentine base plate and a stereoscopic serpentine cold plate are investigated, and the results are compared.
