Resolving passive heat transfer and phase‐change heat in cryogenic CO2 deposition (Desublimation) from CO2/N2 mixtures

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract In cryogenic CO2 desublimation systems where phase change dominates both heat transfer and separation, conventional lumped thermal‐resistance treatments embed interfacial latent heat into an overall heat‐transfer coefficient, obscuring how phase‐change heat is partitioned between the gas phase and the coolant and limiting diagnostic insight ...

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Investigation of the Unsteady External and Underhood Airflow of the DrivAer model by Dynamic Mode Decomposition Methods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Engineering, 2017
In this research, we conduct unsteady CFD to investigate the effect of engine bay flow on the steady and unsteady aerodynamics of the extended DrivAer model reproducing engine bay flow.

System Identification of Robotic Fish Swimming Reveals Roles of Reactive and Resistive Fluid Force in Two Distinct Swimming Gaits

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
System identification and particle image velocimetry reveal how a modular robotic fish changes thrust physics across gaits. A traveling‐wave, fish‐like motion draws thrust from resistive drag, while a resonant standing‐wave motion is driven by reactive pressure.

Large eddy simulations of a utility‐scale horizontal axis wind turbine including unsteady aerodynamics and fluid‐structure interaction modelling

open access: yesWind Energy, 2023
Growing horizontal axis wind turbines are increasingly exposed to significant sources of unsteadiness, such as tower shadowing, yawed or waked conditions and environmental effects.

Histidine Supplementation Stabilizes Hearing and Vision and Improves Growth in HARS1‐Related Autosomal Recessive Disorder Associated With Usher‐Like Symptoms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive HARS1‐related disorder (originally described as Usher syndrome type 3B) caused by a homozygous Y454S variant in the histidyl‐tRNA synthetase gene (HARS1) is characterized by progressive sensorineural hearing and vision loss and respiratory deterioration with risk for sudden death following febrile illnesses.

Development of an unsteady aerodynamics model to improve correlation of computed blade stresses with test data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A reliable rotor aeroelastic analysis operational that correctly predicts the vibration levels for a helicopter is utilized to test various unsteady aerodynamics models with the objective of improving the correlation between test and theory.
