Stereoscopic Serpentine Channel‐Based Cold Plate Design for Enhanced Liquid Cooling of EV Batteries

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
The Graphical Abstract shows a 16‐cell battery pack used in the numerical study, along with temperature contours on the surface of coolant flow channels and a transient average surface temperature plot. A serpentine base plate and a stereoscopic serpentine cold plate are investigated, and the results are compared.

A Novel PLP1 Gene Mutation Causing Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Type 2: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We report a case of a female patient with hereditary spastic paraplegia type 2 (SPG2), who harbors a novel heterozygous nonsense mutation (c.166C>T/p.Gln56*) in the proteolipid protein 1 (PLP1) gene, which has been previously unpublished in the literature. This discovery expands the spectrum of pathogenic mutations in the PLP1 gene.

Optimal susceptor rotation speed in hot‐wall horizontal SiC epitaxy using computational fluid dynamics

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 5, Page 2269-2282, May 2026.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was used to study how internal geometry and susceptor rotation affect SiHCl₃ concentration uniformity in an industrial‐scale SiC vapour deposition reactor (CVD) reactor. A rotation speed of 200 rpm yielded the most uniform distributions.

Shock‐Assisted Flow Control System in Convergent‐Divergent Nozzle: A Numerical Study on Unconventional Protuberance With Different Geometry

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
A numerical investigation using 3D RANS simulations demonstrates significant effects of protuberance geometry—cubic, cylindrical, spherical, and conical—on shock‐induced thrust vectoring in supersonic nozzles. Cubic protuberances provide the maximum jet deflection (˜2°) with negligible thrust reduction.

Development of Novel Nebulizers: Effects of Key Device Design Parameters on Aerosolization Performance

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
VOF‐DPM CFD simulation coupled with NGI validation revealed the dominant role of nozzle outlet length in atomization performance. Geometry optimization improved FPF and established a quantitative structure‐performance relationship for pulmonary vaccine delivery.
