An overview of a Lagrangian method for analysis of animal wake dynamics [PDF]
The fluid dynamic analysis of animal wakes is becoming increasingly popular in studies of animal swimming and flying, due in part to the development of quantitative flow visualization techniques such as digital particle imaging velocimetry (DPIV).

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Unsteady Newton-Busemann flow theory. Part 2: Bodies of revolution [PDF]
Newtonian flow theory for unsteady flow past oscillating bodies of revolution at very high Mach numbers is completed by adding a centrifugal force correction to the impact pressures.

Theoretical Study of Fluid Forces on a Centrifugal Impeller Rotating and Whirling in a Volute [PDF]
Fluid forces on a rotating and whirling centrifugal impeller in a volute are analyzed with the assumption of a two-dimensional rotational, inviscid flow. For simplicity, the flow is assumed to be perfectly guided by the impeller vanes.

EventFlow: Real‐time neuromorphic event‐driven classification of two‐phase boiling flow regimes
We present a real‐time flow regime classification framework that integrates neuromorphic event‐driven sensing with deep recurrent neural networks. Unlike traditional frame‐based approaches, our system captures sparse event streams from an event‐based camera, representing only the dynamic brightness changes at the individual pixel level.

Resonance‐induced restoration of rock permeability degraded by heavy components of crude oil
Resonance‐induced changes occur in filtration properties of sedimentary rocks in crude paraffin oil flow under acoustic vibrations. Experimental data on (a) pressure drop; (b) permeability; (c) pressure at the rock inlet; and (d) pressure at the rock outlet are presented.

An assessment of stress and production rate of sucker rod heat pipes in oil well pumping system
The sucker rod pumping system is the preferred oil extraction technique. The concept about equipping the hollow vacuum space in solid sucker rods with heat pipe has been scrutinized in terms of stress and oil production evaluation. Abstract The implementation of the heat pipe concept in sucker rods for oil pumping systems negates the requirement for an

A Test Program to Measure Fluid Mechanical Whirl-Excitation Forces in Centrifugal Pumps [PDF]
Much speculation has surrounded the possible unsteady hydrodynamic forces which could be responsible for the excitation of whirl instabilities in turbomachines. However there exist very few measurements of these forces which would permit one to evaluate
