Thermal and Bioconvective Modeling and Analysis of Unsteady Cu‐Water Nanofluid Flow through Porous Media with Gyrotactic Microorganisms

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
The current study investigated unsteady boundary layer flow of a Cu/H2O$$ \mathrm{Cu}/{\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O} $$ nanofluid over an expanding sheet embedded in a Darcy porous medium, containing gyrotactic microorganisms. The model includes heat source effects, unsteadiness, buoyancy, slip conditions, and nanoparticle radius.

A Review of Flow Field and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Jet Impingement From Special‐Shaped Holes

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Special‐shaped nozzles and nanofluid integration enhance jet impingement cooling by improving heat transfer and thermal uniformity. However, gains are constrained by increased pressure drop and stability challenges, highlighting the need for optimized designs and multiscale modeling to achieve efficient, scalable thermal management.

Thermal Behavior of Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer Nanofluid Flow With Heat Source/Sink Effects

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
Radiative Darcy–Forchheimer nanofluid flow in a porous medium is numerically analyzed with heat source/sink effects. Radiation enhances heat transfer and boundary layer thickness, while increasing Forchheimer resistance suppresses velocity, providing insights for optimizing thermal management in high‐temperature porous systems.

Recurrent Body Shape Patterns in Cave‐ and Surface‐Dwelling Trichomycterid Catfishes

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 287, Issue 9, September 2026.
Multivariate shape analyses reveal that body shape consistently differs between cave‐ and surface‐dwelling trichomycterids in northeastern Colombia, with cave species exhibiting fusiform bodies while surface species showed deeper shapes consistently in different clades.
