EFTUD2 Regulates Cortical Morphogenesis via Modulation of Caspase‐3 and Aifm1 Splicing Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
EFTUD2, a spliceosomal GTPase linked to MFDM, regulates cortical development through apoptotic control. Conditional Eftud2 knockout in murine neural stem cells induces microcephaly and cortical disorganization, while pathogenic variants drive neuronal loss.

Long-Range Chromosomal Mapping of the Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) Gene Family Cluster [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A long-range physical map of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family cluster, which is located on the long arm of chromosome 19, has been constructed.

KRAS mRNA Spleen‐Targeting Lipid Nanoparticles Synergize with Irinotecan Silicasomes to Robustly Augment the Cancer Immunity Cycle in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To overcome pancreatic cancer's immunosuppressive barriers, this study explores a dual approach: triggering immunogenic tumor cell death at the primary tumor site with irinotecan‐loaded silicasomes and enhancing immune activation in the spleen using LNPs encapsulating tumor antigen mRNA and a TLR7/8 agonist.

Identifying statistical dependence in genomic sequences via mutual information estimates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Questions of understanding and quantifying the representation and amount of information in organisms have become a central part of biological research, as they potentially hold the key to fundamental advances.

Genetic characterization of the coxsackievirus B2 3′ untranslated region

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2001
The secondary structure of the 3′ untranslated region (3′UTR) of picornaviruses is thought to be important for the initiation of negative-strand RNA synthesis. In this study, genetic and biological analyses of the 3′ terminus of coxsackievirus B2 (CVB2), which differs from other enteroviruses due to the presence of five additional nucleotides prior to ...

PRMT3‐Mediated H4R3me2a Promotes Primary Age‐Related Tauopathy by Driving Tau Hyperphosphorylation in Neuron

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies PRMT3‐mediated H4R3me2a as a critical driver of tau hyperphosphorylation in primary age‐related tauopathy. Mechanistic insights reveal that the PRMT3/H4R3me2a/miR‐448 axis suppresses IGF1R expression via epigenetic regulation, further dysregulating the PI3K/AKT/GSK3β pathway.

Ovine PRNP untranslated region and promoter haplotype diversity

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2009
The diversity and possible contribution of non-coding regions of the prion protein (PrP) gene (PRNP) to transmissible spongiform encephalopathy susceptibility and PrP regulation are not fully known. This study defined ten ovine PRNP promoters and five untranslated region (UTR) haplotypes found in atypical and classical scrapie cases and healthy control

m6A Modulates RAN Translation From CAG Repeat Expansion RNA

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
We described a novel role of N6‐methyladenosine in promoting non‐canonical repeat‐associated non‐AUG translation from CAG repeat expansion RNA. ABSTRACT Nucleotide repeat expansions contribute to the development of a number of neurodegenerative diseases.

Identification of mRNA binding proteins that regulate the stability of LDL receptor mRNA through AU-rich elements[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
The 3′untranslated region (UTR) of human LDL receptor (LDLR) mRNA contains three AU-rich elements (AREs) responsible for rapid mRNA turnover and mediates the stabilization induced by berberine (BBR).
