Accelerated Bone Healing via Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 24, June 26, 2025.
Electrical stimulation significantly impacts bone healing by enhancing osteoblast proliferation, differentiation, and vascularization through calmodulin/calcineurin/NFAT signaling. It also boosts macrophage function and cell migration, presenting a comprehensive approach to accelerating bone repair.

External control of the Drosophila melanogaster egg to imago development period by specific combinations of 3D low-frequency electric and magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report that the duration of the egg-to-imago development period of the Drosophila melanogaster, and the imago longevity, are both controllable by combinations of external 3-dimensional (3D) low-frequency electric and magnetic fields (LFEMFs).

Comparable impact of lymph node metastases in T2 gallbladder cancer on postoperative prognosis irrespective of the extent of the metastases: A retrospective analysis

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 443-451, June 2025.
Kishi and colleagues found that in node‐positive gallbladder cancer, the incidences of extensive metastases beyond the hepatic pedicle and of metastases skipping cystic nodes were similarly frequent across stages T2, T3, and T4 disease. Postoperative prognosis in T2 node‐positive cases was not affected by the extent of nodal involvement.

A Simplified Technique for Arthroscopic Reduction and Double‐Pulley Fixation of Bony Bankart Lesion by Percutaneous Spinal Needle Suture

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Bony Bankart lesion is commonly seen and highly associated with anterior glenohumeral instability. However, the reported arthroscopic techniques that reduce and fix bony Bankart lesion with traditional suture devices may encounter several problems during the suture‐passing process, including splitting the fracture fragment or surrounding soft ...

Evaluation of Wear and Hardness Properties of 3D‐Printed Polylactide/Hydroxyapatite/Titania Composites

open access: yesPolymers for Advanced Technologies, Volume 36, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Polylactic acid (PLA), which shows promise as a replacement for non‐biobased polymers, has limitations in many applications due to poor mechanical properties. Recently, PLA‐based composite filaments have been developed to address this issue. In this study, composite filaments made of polylactic acid (PLA) containing titanium dioxide (titania ...
