Novel Aspects about “Lifetime” in Upconversion Luminescence
Chemistry – A European Journal, 2023AbstractRecent progress on the temporal response (TR) of lanthanide‐doped upconversion luminescence (UCL) has enriched the means of UCL regulation, promoted advanced designs for customized applications such as biological diagnosis, high‐capacity optical coding, and dynamic optical anti‐counterfeiting, and pushed us to reacquaint the dynamic responses ...

Upconversion luminescence from CdSe nanoparticles
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005Efficient upconversion luminescence has been observed from CdSe nanoparticles ranging in size from 2.5 to 6 nm. The upconversion luminescence exhibits a near-quadratic laser power dependence. Emissions from both excitons and trap states are observed in the upconversion and photoluminescence spectra, and in the upconversion luminescence the emission ...

Upconversion luminescence of CdTe nanoparticles
Physical Review B, 2005Efficient upconversion luminescence is observed from CdTe nanoparticles in solution and precipitated as solids. In the solids, the upconversion luminescence spectrum is significantly red shifted relative to the photoluminescence spectrum, whereas in solution, there is very little spectral shift.

Enhancing Luminescence in Lanthanide‐Doped Upconversion Nanoparticles
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2014Abstract The enthusiasm for research on lanthanide‐doped upconversion nanoparticles is driven by both a fundamental interest in the optical properties of lanthanides embedded in different host lattices and their promise for broad applications ranging from biological imaging to photodynamic therapy.

Upconversion luminescence of nanophosphors
2022Due to the unique characteristics of converting near-infrared (NIR) excitation to tunable emission from deep ultraviolet to NIR, lanthanide ions–doped upconversion (UC) nanomaterials are considered to have great potential in a broad range of applications, including biomedicine, display, energy, anti-counterfeiting and super-resolution imaging. Although

Measurement of infrared level lifetime by upconversion luminescence
Optics Letters, 2011Based on repetition frequency-dependent excited state absorption (ESA) upconversion (UC) luminescence, a method to measure the lifetime of an IR intermediate level is proposed so long as ESA UC luminescence can occur in the rare earth ions. The feasibility of this idea is demonstrated via a theoretical simulation.

An Upconversion Luminescence Nanoprobe for the Ultrasensitive Detection of Hyaluronidase
Analytical Chemistry, 2015A new upconversion luminescence nanoprobe for the detection of hyaluronidase has been developed by coupling the hyaluronic acid-bearing upconversion fluorescence nanoparticles (HA-UCNPs) with poly(m-phenylenediamine) (PMPD) nanospheres via covalent linkage.
