Quadrature frequency resolved spectroscopy of upconversion photoluminescence in GeGaS:Er3+: I. Determination of energy transfer upconversion parameter

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2017
The article presents the formulas of quadrature frequency resolved spectroscopy (QFRS) on the upconversion photoluminescence (UCPL) of rare-earth (RE) doped materials on the general M-level model. The formulas are derived in matrix-equation form with the first-order perturbation on the rate equations at the M energy-levels of RE ion.

Size dependence of upconversion photoluminescence in MPA capped CdTe quantum dots: Existence of upconversion bright point

Journal of Luminescence, 2016
Abstract The photoluminescence (PL) from semiconductor quantum dots can show a “PL bright point”, that is the PL from as prepared quantum dots is maximum at a particular size. In this work we show that, for CdTe quantum dots, upconversion photoluminescence (UCPL) originating from nonlinear absorption shows a similar “UCPL bright point”.

Photoluminescence Upconversion Study of GaN Nanowires: Potential for Optical Refrigeration

CLEO: 2015, 2015
Up-converted photoluminescence of GaN nanowires is observed at the temperature above 375 K. At 475 K, the mechanism of the photoluminescence was identified as phonon-assisted bandtail emission. Such a phenomenon contributes to optical refrigeration.

Investigation on upconversion photoluminescence of Bi3TiNbO9:Er3+:Yb3+ thin films

Journal of Luminescence, 2011
Abstract Bi 3 TiNbO 9 :Er 3+ :Yb 3+ (BTNEY) thin films were fabricated on fused silica by pulsed laser deposition. It was demonstrated that different laser fluence and substrate temperature during growth of BTNEY upconversion photoluminescence (UC-PL) samples control the film’s grain size and hence influences the UC-PL properties.

THE ASSEMBLY OF A PHOTOLUMINESCENT NANOCOMPLEX BASED ON UPCONVERSION NANOPARTICLES

2020
Over the past two decades, developments in the field of nanobiomedicine have come a long way despite the unresolved hindrances. The creation and development of effective theranostic agents based on nanomaterials are urgent needs of modern medicine. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNP) appear to be the most promising agents for developing theranostics due ...

Upconversion Nanomaterials for Biodetection and Multimodal Bioimaging Using Photoluminescence

2018
Lanthanide-doped upconversion nanomaterials are suitable for biological applications because of their near-infrared excitation property. The excitation wavelength is within the first biological window; therefore this can minimize the damage to biological samples for biomedical applications.

Upconverting Plasmonic Polarizer for Selective Enhancement and Polarization of Upconversion Photoluminescence

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces
We demonstrate an upconverting plasmonic polarizer (UPP) as an innovative platform that boosts the upconversion photoluminescence (UCPL) intensity and simultaneously modulates its polarization. The UPP features a metal-insulator-metal structure comprising upconversion nanoparticle-embedded SiO2 and silver nanogratings. This UPP is deliberately designed
