Objective Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon because of the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.

Photoprotection by sunscreens, clothing and glasses are important to protect the skin against the detrimental effects of sun exposure. In order to achieve complete protection, topical strategies must shield against the range of solar wavelengths ultraviolet A, ultraviolet B, infrared radiation that can damage the skin.

Application of neural networks for structure updating
The paper presents the application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for finite element (FE) models updating. The investigated structures are beams and frames, their models are updated by ANNs with input vectors composed of dynamic characteristics of

Nonparametric time series forecasting with dynamic updating [PDF]
We present a nonparametric method to forecast a seasonal univariate time series, and propose four dynamic updating methods to improve point forecast accuracy. Our methods consider a seasonal univariate time series as a functional time series.

Leading edge (LE) erosion causes reduced power output and a reduction in efficiency by impairing the aerodynamics of the blade. In severe cases, it can reduce the structural integrity of the blade. It is preferable and cheaper to repair LE erosion before

Addressing Economic Insecurities Can Improve Patient‐Reported Outcomes in Lupus
Objective Economic insecurities, such as food, housing, transportation, and financial challenges, are modifiable risk factors and influence patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We examined the following: (1) associations between economic insecurities and PROs, and (2) the impact of screening and addressing economic ...

In this article, we present a QR updating procedure as a solution approach for linear least squares problem with equality constraints. We reduce the constrained problem to unconstrained linear least squares and partition it into a small subproblem.

Retractions in Rheumatology: Trends, Causes, and Implications for Research Integrity
Objective We aimed to describe the trends and main reasons for study retraction in rheumatology literature. Methods We reviewed the Retraction Watch database to identify retracted articles in rheumatology. We recorded the main study characteristics, authors’ countries, reasons for retraction, time from publication to retraction, and trends over time ...
