Overvoltage Suppression Strategy for HPFC Based on Bandwidth Adaptive LADRC and Improved Reactive Power Control

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Overvoltage occurs in Hybrid Power Flow Controllers (HPFC) under specific fault conditions. This paper proposes a linear Active Disturbance Rejection (LADRC) strategy integrating reactive power adaptive regulation and bandwidth parameter adaptive adjustment to suppress whole‐process overvoltage in HPFC.

Optimal Placement and Sizing of Series and Shunt Compensation for Improving Power Systems Operation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Power systems are complex, and power demand has constantly increased over time. Moreover, power transmission systems have a limited capacity, causing the increase in demand to be difficult to accommodate. Additional system requirements include maintaining voltages within specific values and limiting voltage drop in the lines to ensure voltage stability,

Structure and Hierarchical Control Method of Battery‐Based Hybrid Power Flow Controller

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This article proposes a battery‐based hybrid power flow controller (B‐HPFC), offering enhanced flexibility for power flow regulation and energy storage. First, the structure of B‐HPFC is given, where the cascaded H‐Bridge (CHB) is integrated with the phase‐shifting transformer (PST). The batteries are connected to the modules of CHB.
