Full control by locally induced relaxation

open access: yes, 2007
We demonstrate a scheme for controlling a large quantum system by acting on a small subsystem only. The local control is mediated to the larger system by some fixed coupling Hamiltonian.

Proteins, Processing, and Properties of Adhesive Fluid Condensates Purified from Mussels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mussels exhibit an unmatched proficiency for adhering to wet surfaces in salty environments—a remarkable ability that could inspire new biomedical and technical glues. The fluid protein condensates used to form the underwater mussel glue are extracted, reconstituted and characterized with advanced spectroscopy and nanomechanical analysis, revealing ...

Theory‐Guided Design of Non‐Precious Single‐Atom Catalyst for Electrocatalytic Chlorine Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To overcome the reliance on noble metals for the chlorine evolution reaction (CER), we designed a non‐precious single‐atom catalyst (SAC), NiN3O–O. It achieves a low overpotential of 75 mV, 95.8% Cl2 selectivity, and outperforms commercial dimensionally stable anodes (DSAs).

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

Research on automatic processing system of gas outburst parameters in coal mine

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2018
In view of problems such as bad timeliness, heavy workload, inconvenient data storage, query and analysis of traditional manual processing method of gas outburst parameters, an automatic processing system of gas outburst parameters was designed.

Ascorbic Acid Modulates Collagen Properties in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteoporotic Bone: Insights into Chemical, Mechanical, and Biological Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Osteoporosis from long‐term glucocorticoid (GIOP) use elevates susceptibility to fracture. This study shows GCs impair ascorbic acid (AA) metabolism in osteoblasts, collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix integrity. AA enhanced collagen biochemical and mechanical properties and restored osteoblast and endothelial function. These findings underscore

Adaptive Sampling-Based Information Collection for Wireless Body Area Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2016
To collect important health information, WBAN applications typically sense data at a high frequency. However, limited by the quality of wireless link, the uploading of sensed data has an upper frequency.
