Genesis and tectonic significance of Carboniferous volcanic rocks in Karamali area, northern Xinjiang

open access: yesYouqi dizhi yu caishoulu
Volcanic rocks, such as andesite and tuff, are widely developed in the Carboniferous system in Karamali area, northern Xinjiang. The tectonic background of their formation is still controversial.

Self‐Cleaning Sensor Surfaces for Long‐Term Environmental Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Long‐term use of unattended outdoor sensors without soiling or biofouling is achieved through generation of a micro‐ and nanorough cuvette surface by combing hydrophobic nanoparticles with fluorinated polymers, crosslinked and surface‐attached through CHic chemistry. The coating demonstrates self‐cleaning behavior and prolonged outdoor stability, which

The asbian to arnsbergian conodonts and sequence stratigraphy of the Northumberland trough [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Yoredale sequences are excellent exemplars of the sequence stratigraphy model; the spacial and temporal variation of these complex shallow marine/fluvio-deltaic/ coastal plain cycles, exhibit all the uiternal facies architecture that would be expected of

Foraminiferal-based paleobiogeographic reconstructions in the Carboniferous of Iran and its implications for the Neo-Tethys opening time: a synthesis

open access: yesGeologica Acta, 2017
The biogeographic distribution of foraminifers and their belonging to either the southern or northern margins of the Paleo-Tethys are used here for paleogeographic reconstructions of Iran during the Carboniferous.

A Novel Approach to Estimate the Transition Temperature via Dynamic Nanoindentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A new dynamic nanoindentation‐based method was developed that uses the stiffness ratio as an indicator of the elastic–plastic deformation contributions at different temperatures. The approach successfully identified transition temperatures in ferritic steel and distinguished them from continuously ductile austenitic steel.

New constraints on the Middle Palaeozoic to Cenozoic burial and thermal history of the Holy Cross Mts. (Central Poland): results from numerical modelling

open access: yesGeologica Acta, 2010
A 1-D burial-thermal modelling was performed using data from two borehole sections representative of the central part of the Holy Cross Mts. area. This area is located in the axial part of the Permian-Mesozoic Mid-Polish Trough that was inverted during ...
