The influence of Colorado River flows on the upper Gulf of California fisheries economy
Abstract This analysis explores the influence of Colorado River flows into the Upper Gulf of California on fisheries productivity. Working with available time series data for the region, a series of plausible relationships are modeled between river flows and fisheries catch, focusing on the top commercial species, shrimp and gulf corvina.

Mode of extension and rifting history of upper Tiburón and upper Delfín basins, northern Gulf of California [PDF]
The crustal structure of the northern Gulf of California transtensional margin has been investigated by a 280‐km‐long NW‐SE profile, including deep multichannel seismic reflection and densely sampled refraction/wide‐angle reflection seismic information combined with gravity modeling. The seismic and gravity modeling constrains two thinned crustal areas,

Geometry of the Wagner basin, upper Gulf of California based on seismic reflections
International Geology Review, 2009The Wagner basin occupies the northernmost spreading centre in the Gulf of California, located along the Pacific‐North America plate boundary. It is filled with sediments from the Colorado River that obscure its bathymetric expression; therefore it is not as well defined as other basins in the central and southern Gulf of California.

Factors Influencing Suspended Sediment Flux in the Upper Gulf of California
Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, 2002Abstract Few studies exist of sediment dynamics in inverse estuaries, which are characterized by hypersaline water bodies and associated gravity currents and arise in arid regions where little precipitation and runoff combine with a high evaporation. Observations of velocity, density and suspended sediment concentration profiles have been made using ...
