ON THE UPPER NIL RADICAL FOR R-MODULES
JP Journal of Algebra, Number Theory and Applications, 2019Summary: Let \(M\) be a right \(R\)-module. In this paper a generalization of the notion of an \(s\)-system of rings to modules is given. Let \(N\) be a fully invariant submodule of \(M\). Define \(\mathcal{S}(N):=\{m \in M : \text{ every } s\text{-system containing }m\text{ meets }N\}\). It is shown that \(\mathcal{S}(N)\) is equal to the intersection

Upper radicals of regular classes
Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 1983In an earlier paper [\textit{W. G. Leavitt}, Stud. Sci. Math. Hung. 16, 15- 23 (1981; Zbl 0481.16002)] the author showed: if a class \({\mathbb{M}}\) of rings has property (E) the following are equivalent: (1) U\({\mathbb{M}}\) is hereditary. (2) Every \(0\neq R\in {\mathbb{M}}_ k\) has some image \(0\neq R/I\in SU{\mathbb{M}}.\) Here \(U{\mathbb{M}}=\{

Chemistry of HOx radicals in the upper troposphere
Atmospheric Environment, 2001Aircraft observations from three recent missions (STRAT, SUCCESS, SONEX) are synthesized into a theoretical analysis of the factors controlling the concentrations of HO_x radicals (HO_x=OH+peroxy) and the larger reservoir family HO_y (HO_y=HO_x+2H_2O_2+2CH_3OOH+HNO_2+HNO_4) in the upper troposphere.

Upper lesser curvature skeletonization in radical distal gastrectomy
Journal of Surgical Research, 2015To investigate the metastatic status of lymph nodes numbers (no.) 1, 3a, and 3b groups in radical distal gastrectomy with upper lesser curvature skeletonization and the risk factors for lesser curvature regional node (LCRN) metastasis.Data on patients who underwent radical distal gastrectomy were retrospectively collected between May 2010 and September

The upper nilradical and Jacobson radical of semigroup graded rings
Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 2015This paper is motivated by two questions posed by \textit{A. Smoktunowicz} [J. Algebra Appl. 13, No. 4, Article ID 1350121 (2014; Zbl 1298.16009)]. Firstly it is shown that if the upper nilradical of any \(S\)-graded ring is homogeneous, then \(S\) must be cancellative and torsion-free.

Another characterization of the upper nil radical
Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 2016In 2015 Halina France-Jackson introduced the notion of a \({\sigma}\)-ring i.e. a ring R with the property that if I and J are ideals of R and for all \({i\in I}\), \({{j\in J}}\), there exist natural numbers m, n such that \({i^{m}j^{n} =0}\), then I = 0 or J = 0. It is shown that \({\sigma}\) is a special class which coincides with the class \({\rho}\
