Estimations and Prediction for the Compound Rayleigh Distribution Based on Upper Record Values

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, 2018
This article considers estimation of the unknown parameters for the compound Rayleigh distribution (CRD) based on upper record values. We have derived the maximum likelihood (ML) and Bayesian estimators for the unknown two parameters, as well as the reliability and hazard functions.

Computational procedure of assessing lifetime performance index of Weibull lifetime products with the upper record values

open access: yesMathematics and Computers in Simulation, 2011
Process capability indices (PCIs) are used to measure process potential and performance. This study constructs an uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimator (UMVUE) of the lifetime performance index based on the upper record values for Weibull ...

Moments of Upper Record Values from Marshall-Olkin Exponential Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Statistics Applications & Probability, 2016
Marshall-Olkin exponential distribution has been established and studied by Salah, et, al. [10] and Salah [7]. In this paper, we study the upper record values from Marshall-Olkin exponential distribution.

Generalized Upper Record Values from Modified Makeham Distribution and Related Inference

open access: yesJournal of Statistics Applications & Probability, 2016
In this paper, we study the k−th upper record values from modifiedMakeham distribution and derive some simple recurrence relations satisfied by single and product moments. These relations are deduced for moments of record values.

CHARACTERIZATION OF DISTRIBUTIONS VIA k-TH UPPER RECORD VALUES

Far East Journal of Theoretical Statistics, 2016
Summary: We use a new measure of dependence called pseudo-covariance introduced in [the authors, Demonstr. Math. 45, No. 2, 243--256 (2012; Zbl 1269.62049)] to characterize the exponential, Pareto and power distributions via \(k\)-th upper record values.

Statistical inference for the generalized Rayleigh distribution based on upper record values

Model Assisted Statistics and Applications, 2017
We consider the problem of estimating the parameters of generalized Rayleigh distribution both from frequentist and Bayesian point of view when the available data is in the form of record values. Bayes' estimators of the unknown parameters are obtained under symmetric and asymmetric loss functions using gamma priors on both the shape and the scale ...

Statistical Inference for the Chen Distribution Based on Upper Record Values

Annals of Data Science, 2019
This article presents the Bayesian and classical inferences for the Chen distribution assuming upper record values. As the posterior distribution is not in a closed form, a Markov Chain Monte Carlo method is presented to obtain the posterior summaries.

Inference about Weibull Distribution Using Upper Record Values

International Journal of Reliability, Quality and Safety Engineering, 2015
This paper studies the frequentist inference about the shape and scale parameters of the two-parameter Weibull distribution using upper record values. The exact sampling distribution of the MLE of the shape parameter is derived. The asymptotic normality of the MLEs of both parameters are obtained.
