Twenty Switch Three Level CHB Based UPQC
IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019This paper proposes a novel twenty switch three-level cascaded H bridge (CHB) based UPQC for the mitigation of multiple power quality problems. The proposed topology is developed by using five H bridge and two DC link capacitance, so it saves four semiconductor switches and one DC link capacitance compared to the conventional three-level CHB based UPQC.

UPQC Signal Detecting Method with Trigonometric Functions
2012 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2012Power quality is the most important problem in power grid. The Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) is a multi-function device which can settle many power quality problems at the same time. A novel signal-detecting method is proposed in this paper. The new method is only 4 times multiplication, one difference algorithm and 2 divisions.

A UPQC controller design based on SMVSC
2013 5th International Conference on Power Electronics Systems and Applications(PESA), 2013To achieve the coordination control of voltage and current compensation with excellent system robust, a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) controller design procedures based on sliding mode variable structure control (SMVSC) is proposed. First, making use of high self-adaptability and strong robustness of SMVSC, linearization and decoupling ...

Complex wavelet based control strategy for UPQC
2010 Joint International Conference on Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems & 2010 Power India, 2010This paper discusses the utilization of complex continuous wavelet transform based on B-spline function for reference voltages and currents extraction which are used for compensating power quality disturbances by using unified power quality conditioner. The major advantages of choosing B-spline function are the reduction of computation time and ease of

Comparison between UPQC, iUPQC and improved iUPQC
2017 Third International Conference on Sensing, Signal Processing and Security (ICSSS), 2017In this paper a new proposal for the control of power quality is made by interline unified power quality conditioner (iUPQC) and comparison is shown with conventional unified power quality conditioner. Improved iUPQC controller provides additional regulation as STATCOM to grid voltage.

UPQC compensation strategy and design aimed at reducing losses
Industrial Electronics, 2002. ISIE 2002. Proceedings of the 2002 IEEE International Symposium on, 2002After showing how the UPQC is able to-compensate for network voltage variations through different operating strategies, one such strategy is proposed whose aim is to limit the total losses of the device. An estimate was made of the extent of the losses of converters as a function of the DC section voltage and of the maximum injectable voltage from the ...

Coordinated control strategy for UPQC and its verification
2006 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2006This paper researches profoundly on the coordinated control of UPQC (unified power quality conditioner). By analyzing the radical reasons of coupling effect between UPQC series unit and shunt unit, a simple and practical coordinated control strategy for UPQC series unit and shunt unit is proposed, i.e.
