Controlling the Center of Mass Motion of Levitated Particles Using Structured Wavefronts

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Optically levitated particles have great potential for quantum‐enhanced sensing. Precise control of the trapping beam is crucial to improve the stability and confinement of these systems. Here, we study how structured wavefronts can be used to control the center‐of‐mass motion of levitated particles, enhancing trap stiffness and enabling stable ...

R&D Organization and Corporate Social Responsibility Specialization

open access: yesManagerial and Decision Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we examine whether the scope of corporate social responsibility (CSR) should be broad or narrow. A broad scope covers both production and R&D investment decisions, while a narrow scope applies only to production decisions. We show that both firms' choices and the government's preferences depend on the level of CSR concern and on

Inline Conversion Monitoring in MMA High Solid Content Polymerization Process

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2001
Inline conversion measurements in chemical reactions are in general and especially in polymerization reactions necessary for process monitoring and control. For polymerization monitoring, the sound propagation (UPV) can be related to the texture

Decoupling Formulation and Processing Effects in Thermoplastic Starch Through a Data‐Driven Structure–Property Framework

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Processing‐property relationships in thermoplastic starch (TPS): plasticizer type, starch source and melt‐processing temperature establish a hierarchy of effects that governs process‐induced changes and the resulting TPS properties. ABSTRACT Thermoplastic starch (TPS) is a melt‐processable biopolymer whose properties depend strongly on formulation and ...

Thermoresistive Sensors Based on Eco‐Friendly Carbon Dioxide‐Derived Polymeric Poly(Cyclohexene)carbonate Loaded With Reduced Graphene Oxide and Carbon Black

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Thermoresistive sensing materials derived from eco‐friendly polymers for broad‐range temperature measurements. ABSTRACT Carbon dioxide‐derived polycarbonates (CO2‐PCs) present a sustainable alternative to standard bisphenol A polycarbonates (BPA‐PCs), as they are synthesized from the reaction between epoxide and carbon dioxide (CO2). In fact, these eco‐

Similarity‐Driven Framework for Efficient Polymer Property Prediction Under Data Scarcity Scenarios

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
A new approach, based on structural and chemical similarities between polymers, is proposed to improve the performance of artificial neural networks in predicting the glass transition temperature under data‐scarce conditions. ABSTRACT Predicting polymer properties directly from chemical structure is essential for the rational design of advanced ...

Pro‐197 mutations confer resistance to thiencarbazone but not to foramsulfuron in ALS‐resistant Poa annua populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Foramsulfuron remains effective on Pro‐197 Poa annua, but co‐formulation with thiencarbazone reduces efficacy due to limited activity and antagonism. Therefore, foramsulfuron + thiencarbazone should be used in fields without ALS‐resistant weeds to ensure effective in‐crop control.
