Evaluating Idle Animation Believability: A User Perspective

open access: yesComputer Animation and Virtual Worlds, Volume 37, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
This work demonstrates that there is no perceptual difference between genuine and acted idle motion. The first dataset containing these idle animations is also provided. ABSTRACT Animating realistic avatars requires using high‐quality animations for every possible state the avatar can be in.

Shear Stress as a Driver of Retinal Müller Glia Survival and Fibrotic Reprogramming

open access: yesCell Biochemistry and Function, Volume 44, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The retina is highly influenced by mechanical cues such as intraocular fluid movement and blood flow, generating shear stress implicated in both retinal development and pathology. Müller glia, as retinal mechanosensors, are uniquely positioned to respond to such forces.

Magnetism for the Quantification of Sorption in Porous Materials From Liquid Media

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
This adsorption quantification technique uses external magnetic fields and a magnetic holder to measure mass changes during adsorption, making it universally applicable to any adsorbate. Unlike standard methods, it requires calibration only for the adsorbent rather than for every analyte.

External Vibrations on Early‐Age Concrete: A Review

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Scientific illustration of external vibration, their influencing properties and effects, possible outcomes and measures adapted. ABSTRACT Early‐age concrete exhibits limited mechanical strength, making it highly susceptible to external disturbances such as vibrations from construction activities, traffic, or nearby machinery which can disrupt internal ...
