Dictyonema black shale and Triassic sandstones as potential sources of uranium
The main objective of the present study was an assessment of the possibility of uranium recovery from domestic resources in Poland. In the first stage uranium was leached from the ground uranium ore by using acidic (sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid) or

Trace Element Patterns in Juvenile Wild Chimpanzee Dentitions
ABSTRACT Trace elements are used to infer mammalian early‐life diets, environmental toxins, dispersal patterns, stress histories, and weaning ages. Here, we employ laser ablation‐inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry (LA‐ICP‐MS) to reveal elemental patterns in our closest living relatives, chimpanzees.

ABSTRACT This study presents a multi‐analytical archaeometric approach for the compositional characterization and chronological discrimination of Benin metal sculptures in relation to the 1897 Punitive Expedition. The methodology integrates elemental composition (XRF and ICP), stable lead isotope ratios (MC‐ICP‐MS) for alloy system characterization ...

Application of Multi‐Method Dating for Understanding the Gravettian North of Moravia, Central Europe
ABSTRACT This article presents the results of integrating three methods to assess the age of the Upper Palaeolithic site of Pietraszyn 11 (SW Poland), close to the Moravian Gate. Sediment chronology determined using optically stimulated luminescence produced promising, yet ambiguous results (51.0 ± 3.7 to 20.3 ± 0.7 ka).

Electrochemical techniques for uranium extraction from water
Electrochemical removal of uranium from water is an emerging topic that addresses the treatment of drinking water, remediation of contaminated sites, and mining from seawater. Electrochemical strategies compare favorably to conventional processes, such as adsorption and coagulation/flocculation, with advantages in speed and efficiency, materials ...

Appraisal of Six Natural Mica Reference Materials for In Situ Rb‐Sr Geochronology
Key Points Evaluated six natural mica reference materials for in situ LA‐ICP‐MS/MS Rb‐Sr geochronology using geochemical, microstructural and isotopic characterisation. Identified robust primary reference materials: Mount Dromedary biotite (99.37 Ma) and Mica‐Fe biotite (307.75 Ma). La Posta biotite and Högsbo muscovite are suitable secondary reference
